The Japan-Singapore International Workshop

On June 12, Mr. Patrick Ky, CEO and Mr. Tan Yean Guan of the International Centre for Aviation Innovation (ICAI) from Singapore visited Japan and held the “Singapore-Japan International Workshop for Sustainable Air Transport in the Asia-Pacific Region” with Itoh Lab. During this workshop, discussions were held on how to transform and innovate the air transport system in response to challenges such as climate change impacts and shortages of air traffic controllers, amidst the backdrop of concentrated growth in air transport demand in the Asia-Pacific region. As the only research lab in Japan dedicated to the research and development of air transport systems, Itoh Lab collaborates with ICAI as a core member aiming for the overhaul of the air transport system in the Asia region, promoting international and interdisciplinary research and development in areas on the air transport, air traffic control, air traffic management, and airport operations.
